Tampa Bay Inshore Fishing On Fire

Snook action is non-stop

trophy snook, snook, tampa bay fishing

Fishing action around Tampa Bay is just getting stronger as the great Florida fall weather sets in.  Temperatures are down and the days are less humid.  You can fish all day without suffering heat exhaustion!  Tampa Bay Inshore Charters is on the action.  We’re fishing all different conditions and having a great time.  Trips are yielding great catches of snook.  Redfish have been harder to find, but we’re hoping they make a showing behind the recent cold fronts.  I expect that they will.  We’ve been fishing live bait as well as artificial baits.  The 38″ snook in the above picture was taken on a 3″ Gulp shrimp!  We’re working the mangrove lines for snook and reds and hitting the open grass flats for trout.  Throwing artificial baits along the mangroves in the deeper troughs has been very successful.  We’re concentrating on working cut-up bottom with grass and pot holes.  Chumming live bait is really the easiest way to get the bite going.  Snook are also scattered out on the flats.  I expect redfish to be both on the flats in the pot holes and also along the deeper mangrove lines.  Our best catches are coming on the steep tides – generally on higher water.  Don’t miss the great fall action.  It really is one of the best times to fish this area.  Give me a call and let’s get something booked.  Capt. Scott Keith (813) 760-6735.
